Disney Party: Costume Crazy

As promised, todays blog is a continuation of the Disney-themed party Planning!

We're gonna be looking at costumes. YAAAAY!! Some ideas I gathered include:
  • Minions from Despicable Me
  • Snow White
  • Princess Jasmine from Aladdin
But hopefully with my guide, you'll  learn how to construct any Disney outfit using modern/ normal clothing from any high-street shops!

MINIONS: I know Despicable Me isn't strictly Disney, but... read my earlier post to understand.

Minions don't just look awesome but planning costumes in general is, seriously, really fun.

For this look, simply acquire:

  • short blue denim dungarees
  • yellow short-sleeve top
  • yellow tights/ long socks- optional
  • swimming goggles
  • any trainers
If you want to add extra, cut a yellow ribbon in half to tie in your plaits. Or draw and cut the Gru sign onto black card/paper and secure to dungarees with safety pin.

SNOW WHITE: Gather the following items:
  • yellow peter-pan (ironic, I know) collar
  • blue cropped top
  • yellow tutu/ maxi skirt/ mini skirt
  • red bow
  • black plimsolls or vans
This is the perfect
Princess Jasmine top-
all purchasable in New Look!
Improved with short black wig, easily purchasable at local party shop. For a step further, embrace a chosen colour being worn (e.g. red in the bow) and use the same coloured lippy, earrings and nails.
if you can't manage baggy
trousers- go for a pair
of cheap trackies like
these ones from
New Look!

PRINCESS JASMINE:
  • blue cropped top
  • blue baggy trousers/leggings
  • gold chain necklace
  • gold headband
  • pumps in same colour
Backcomb your hair in order to make it 'poof' more, and brush into a ponytail, with chosen gold hair-do to match Princess Jasmine's locks.

A modern take on Aurora
from Sleeping Beauty
...I think...
I wouldn't mind a jacket
like that!

What you most need to understand from this post is that, once you've grasped the basic colours, print and style from your chosen character, it's easy to make your own.

If you like the pictured designs shown, try some for yourself! Choose your fave Disney character and try to imagine what they might look like in real life, maybe, at school?

Yours,
Truly xxx
